A fairytale ending to our project! We ended well and even left a few teary eyes!
I'm really glad that this week is over! No more project compass, no more travelling to nvss, no more super high energy kids to deal with. But don't get me wrong - I've enjoyed the whole workshop!
I don't know how much impact we have made on the lives of the 8 of them, but it's good enough that they have more or less enjoyed themselves throughout the 4 days and have built a good rapport with us.
They had left us totally exhausted at the end of the every session, but I'm sure we have learnt a lot through those interactions with them. We now know how to manage them better, how to get their attention, why they do certain things and so on. But most importantly, I think we've learnt not to judge them based on their backgrounds, and when we probe deep enough into their lives, realised that these students are actually just like anybody else.
Like what Joseph said today, our group is close-knitted, and yup, I agree totally. Thanks to all of you for making Project Compass a success! The friendships forged are strong. Perhaps, we have fulfilled one of the main objectives of Leadership and Team-Building!
